Yep, It's Monday

Woo. It's Monday. It's an early day for me. Up by 5:30 so I can get all the kids appropriately shuffled. I get home by about 6:45 & get my butt in the kitchen & cook dinner for the fam. I'll get to do the same thing tomorrow...which reminds me, I need to take the chicken out of the freezer to thaw for tomorrow's enchiladas...just a sec...

...

Ok, I fixed the seasoning ratio that I'd written down wrong for tonight's dinner.

...Oh, wait...that's not what I got up for. Dammit.

...

What did I get up for again...? Oh, chicken. Right.

...

Ok. Chicken out of freezer & on the counter for a while to defrost. Hopefully I remember to get it into the crock pot before I go to bed and not just leave it moldering on the counter all night like I did that one time...

This is my life. A bunch of stuff I should be doing. A lot of it that doesn't get done the way I wish it would. And all of it? Happens in a very ADD kind of way. I always think "when I have more time..." or "when I get out of school..." but I don't know if that will really make a difference.

Perhaps I just need to embrace the fact that dutiful organization? Is just not me.

  1. I have learned to just embrace the new me that motherhood has created. The me who sometimes forgets things that are not written down. The new me who has put the ice cream in the refrigerator and the mustard in the freezer. Who loses things sometimes. Who occasionally stands in the middle of a room and thinks to herself, "Now what the heck was I going to do in this room?"

    Sigh.

Motherhood steals brain cells, I believe.

A trade I am willing to make.

But a little advance warning would have been nice.

Or maybe someone told me, but I just forgot.

    Sigh.

  2. I think you are maybe right. There's never going to be more time. Life is always crazy and complicated! We need to make time for what us important now. Waiting for the right time means not doing it.
    Awesome job activating the crockpot!!

  3. Sigh. Yes, I, too, am all over the place. I've started everything and have finished nothing. I'm always busy, but I never get anything done.

  4. I whole heartedly agree with Kris above... motherhood steals brain cells. I am way dumber now that I have a child. It's super frustrating. Lists are my friends and without them, I'd lose myself.
